Under the Rug illustrates the act of rapid urban development, questioning what happens to those with the least. The critter’s feet are representative of houseless individuals' posture in public spaces, scale being used to show the magnitude of the problem. The building in the center towers the rest, adding direct pressure to the critter. As the weight increases, the working class are silently pushed further out, and so goes whatever is not deemed aesthetic or functional to new residents. Where do they go? Out of sight, out of mind.
